Hotels in Singapore

Hotels in Singapore feature impressive accommodations in a city-state nicknamed “Lion City”, a name believed to have derived from Sumatran prince Sang Nila Utama ‘s observation of a “lion”, most likely a Malayan tiger, upon his arrival to the area. The lion, along with the tiger, can be seen on Singapore’s National Coat of Arms.  Known for its lush vegetation, cleanliness and  incredible modern skyline, Singapore is one of the world’s best destinations for shopping enthusiasts. While shopping malls are becoming a dying breed in many places, Singapore still holds over 100 malls, with the most high-end shopping malls in all of Asia. Singapore can be quite humid. Keep in mind that you should act conservatively and not smoke or chew gum in public. Cars drive on the left side, English is the most commonly spoken language, currency is the Singapore dollar and the legal drinking age is 18 years. Big events include F1 – Singapore Grand Prix, Singapore Art Festival, Singapore National Day, Hungry Ghost Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Chinese New Year (China Town), River Hong Bao, Chingay Parade, Qing Ming Festival, Marina Bay Singapore Countdown and i Light Marina Bay. Warriors FC is the area’s most successful professional football club and plays at Choa Chu Kang Stadium on the northwest side. Hotels in Singapore are some of the best in all of Asia. Before we get to hotels in Singapore, let’s take a look at some more background information on the area to help you along the way.

Founded in 1819 by British statesman and Lieutenant-Governor Sir Stamford Raffles, Singapore has been controlled by the British East India Company, the British Raj and, during World War II, the Japanese. The Malay Annals attributes ancient Singapore’s founding to Sang Nila Utama circa 1299. In the 14th century, Temasek was a trading port for the Majapahit Empire and the Siamese kingdoms. Portuguese raiders burned down the main settlement on Fort Canning in 1613. Singapore gained independence from the British Empire in 1963.

An island city-state in Southeast Asia, Singapore has a population of over 5.5 million people. The Lion City today attracts over 17 million tourists per year. Tourism accounts for a significant percentage of Singapore’s GDP. Casinos, healthcare and education are major draws. Beneficial to visiting Singapore is that English is the city-state’s most commonly spoken language. Temperatures remain consistently warm throughout the year, with average summer highs in the 80s degrees Fahrenheit, and average winter lows in the mid-to-high 70s. Upscale shopping centers and hotels are prominent in the Orchard Road district. An important sanctuary for some of the world’s most threatened animal species, the Singapore Zoo attracts around 2 million visitors per year, while the Jurong Bird Park boasts 500 different bird species from around the world. Other popular attractions include National Gallery Singapore, Singapore Art Museum, Red Dot, ArtScience Museum, Peranakan MuseumThe Arts House, Marina Bay, Chinatown, The Merlion, Istana Park and National Stadium. Singapore’s most well-known culinary dish is Hainanese chicken rice, which is poached chicken with seasoned rice, served with spicy chili sauce and cucumber garnishes. Spicy in nature, Singapore’s other popular foods include chili crab, Laksa, or a spicy noodle soup, BBQ stingray, fish head curry, Char kway teow, which is a  stir-fry-like noodle dish and Hokkien prawn mee, another spicy dish based with noodles. Singapore’s national drink is the gin-based Singapore Sling, while beer is also widely popular. Now that we have a little background information on the area, it’s time for hotels in Singapore that will help make for an outstanding getaway.

  1. A great place to go; Singapore. I love the place and me and my wife plan to go there in 2 years. These hotels look amazing and seem to hold the place to great standards. They definitely look exactly like I would expect Singapore to look. I’m going to reach out to you and check out pricing on some of these. They look awesome.

    Don

  2. Wow, these rooms are gorgeous and actually not a bad deal at all when you are traveling with a group of people. I like how you’ve pointed out the cost per person based on the size of the penthouse rental. What a great way to enjoy the city views even during your downtime!

Thanks for sharing this valuable information!

    1. Thank you Aly! You really nailed it when pointing out that it’s not a bad deal when traveling with a group, as that’s a main theme here. Thank you for the comments and hope to see you back soon 🙂

  3. All of the penthouses looks elegant, upscale and posh.  The flooring system are quite luxurious and exquisite. They probably have great looking kitchens with granite countertops and modern appliances. Looking for a penthouse is not easy especially for top notched and popular establishment. All of your suggestions have good location, often in busy areas but the interior looks very relaxing. For the price range and size of my family Inthink the best options would be Orchard Scotts Residences and Huge penthouse. Thanks for all these fully detailed recommendations.

  4. Those are some incredible and affordable options for the traveler who is budget conscious. I have heard so many good things about Singapore as a travel destination and unlike some other popular places in the news, you don’t hear much negative. Universal Studios looks amazing and for that price it must be.

    1. Hi Lee definitely. Singapore really has some amazing sites which makes it a top world travel destination. What helps is that the main language is English. Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Hmm!

Definitely beautiful to look at with great scenery.  Personally,  l like self-catering holidays to Turkey as the sea is divine in April.  It seems Singapore would be way too hot for me.

The apartments are beautiful and tastefully furnished.

I particularly like the background of Singapore and how it came about.  I noticed the names of the roads are all English!  Very quaint!

    1. Hi Stella and thank you for stopping by. The main language in Singapore is English, which is an added bonus!

  6. Hello Admin,

I am very glad to see your post. Last year me and my husband planned to go Singapore. But we could not go there because we were confused about the hotels and their cost. Now I am feeling very happy to see your post and definitely this year we will go to Singapore in the winter vacation. The hotels are cheap in price which you included. I really wanted that types of penthouses. Can I book hotels from my country?

Thanks a lot dude. I will share your post to my friends.

    1. Hi Snigdha, thank you for the comments. I see no reason why you would be unable to book the hotel through your country. Glad you appreciate the cost-effectiveness and luxury that a penthouse or multi-bedroom apartment can provide.

  7. Thank you for this informative post.
The fact that Singapore attracts over 17 million tourists in a year says a lot. It goes to show its a great tourist destination.
I would love to visit Singapore one day. It’s great that you’ve already done some research on cheap accommodation.
I would prefer a 3-bedroom penthouse with an internet connection as I intend to travel with my family.
I have bookmarked this post for future reference.

  8. Wow, although I’ve yet to visit Singapore I’m truly amazed at these accommodations  I would love to spend some time at the knolls, the pricing seems about normal for places in these high-end establishments, I also like the way you broke it down by the person. I had no idea Singapore hosted 17 million tourists a year, with these number I’m sure you will stay busy, I just added Singapore to my bucket list thanks for the great read. good luck

    1. Thank you for the comments tcheck! Singapore is an excellent English-speaking destination. Happy travels out there 🙂

  9. These penthouses are beautifully furnished, and the views are awesome, the weather is really equitable.

The following are the three penhouses that I would choose,if I could afford to stay in them for a holiday.

The Treetops Executive Residences, and are so close to four restaurants, sushi shop, beauty salon, hair salon,an several other shops and places of interest.

The St Regis has stunning marble wall paneling, and decor, and has access to three restaurants, bistro, spa, and art gallery.

The Intercontinental at 1 Nanson road, has a multiplicity of in house amenities, as well as three nearby restaurants,a bar, spa ,and an art gallery.

  10. Yes, Treetops Executive! It is very lovely been there, I’ve actually been there and would recommend anyone to check it out, it’s definitely worth it! Singapore’s not that huge so everything’s within reach and at most, the furthest part of Singapore only takes about half an hour so you don’t have to worry about location positioning. And greens? It’s everywhere 😀

Not a sponsored comment, I just love seeing South East Asian countries covered on your site because that’s where I’m from and I travel a lot. Do you have plans on covering penthouses in Malaysia too? That would be swell !

  11. I would definitely go for the Intercontinental Hotel for one reason: it reminds me of the John Wick series. LOL.

These hotels really look like the place for a dream holiday. Some might say it’s expensive, but that’s why they are not affordable to everyone and meant only for those who need a real break.

Comparing the price and what you get in return, I seriously think it’s fair enough. Because I definitely would be willing to spend more when I start considering the possibility of giving myself a real treat.

When I’m ready to take a break from my online business, I will visit your website for more insights.

Thanks for sharing such invaluable resources.

    1. Thank you NSOH for the kind words! InterContinental reminding you of the John Wick series haha that is awesome. Relative to what you get or what your budget should be for renting quality vs. price these prices are cheap.

  12. I had always heard that Singapore is an expensive place to live and it appears that based on the prices for the penthouses that you have highlighted, this is the case. Knowing that ahead of time means that you have to plan a bit more and try to bring in a group to cut the costs somewhat.

Getting a penthouse is an ideal solution and it can also be a great experience if you use the stay for conducting some business in the penthouse (this is how I will plan on using any penthouse in Singapore). There are certainly some beautiful ones that you have included.

Are there limits on the number of guests that can stay in these penthouses (or any penthouse for that matter)? I would imagine that it would be based on the size and number of bedrooms etc. I would love to stay in one of these when in Singapore if I could swing it. The cost is not that different from a high-end hotel stay. Thanks for the heads up on these beautiful penthouse options…

    1. Hi Dave, definitely it depends on the number of bedrooms. Most penthouses have two or more bedrooms so of course the more bedrooms the lower the cost for group travel. Someone with a higher budget might consider $310 per person per night at Capella The Club Residences cheap wheres someone with a lower budget might consider $39 per person per night at Huge Penthouse Sentosa cheap. In this way it’s all relative. Hope that helps and thanks for stopping by!

  13. You’ve really done a fantastic job for a place ‘that was not easy to find’. A place that has that many tourist in a year says alot about Singapore.

The St. Regis Singapore is really an eye catcher. Who wouldn’t want bentley and chauffeur services? The more reason to go out and explore the scenery. Capella The Club Residences? Wow!

Thanks for taking your time to showcase all these nice penthouses.

    1. Thank you Carol! Who wouldn’t want butler and chauffeur indeed. $157 per person person night with chauffeured Bentley’s is a pretty good price! Glad you like St. Regis and thanks for stopping by.

  14. Wow! You have introduced some great places to stay in Singapore. These hotels are great places to enjoy a luxury holiday, Few are pretty expensive, and the best places for a great honeymoon in Singapore. Last time when I visited Newzealand, I had to stay in Singapore for a night. In my next visit, I think I shall try Treetops Executive Residences which is reasonable in price.

  15. I already feel like booking my next vacation tour to Singapore with all these amazing hotels and penthouse together with different eye catching places around them. I am very sure the enjoyment there is fun-filled. My cousin is at the SMU in Singapore and I will gist her about these amazing places that worth visiting. Especially the places around St. Regis Singapore for her to enjoy the good accommodation it promised.

  16. I like how you gave a detailed description of each of the penthouses.  Each penthouse also included a picture of the penthouse.  Before I even started to read the description of the penhouses, my eyes were drawn to the images.  That would be my first impression of the penthouse.  If I didn’t like the look of the picture, I would not read the description.

Are this pictures of the actual penhouse that you were describing in your in your article?

I like how you would list how far different venues were located from the hotels.  That way if I was wanted to stay close to a certain venue, I would be able to see which one is the closest.  I would suggest that you keep your format the same.  In the first description you listed the distance and then the venue.  While in the other descriptions you listed the venue and then the description.

My other suggestion, would be to not have spaces between your name of your hotel and the address, and between the price per night and the cost per person.  When I go to a website, I will first scroll through the website to see if it grabs my attention.  What grabed my attention were your separated headings.  A first glance, I thought you were missing content.

Overall, I think your used of descriptions and imagery made me want to vacation at one of these destinations.

    1. Hi Jan some pictures are of the penthouse and some are of the hotel. We’ll keep your suggestions in mind and thank you for stopping by!

  17. There are so many reasons to take refuge in Singapore, as it’s become one of the most prosperous countries in the world today, consistently ranking in the Top 10 (along with Hong Kong) in virtually every category. Further, I was surprised to see how cheap some of these penthouses really are, with the last one at 218 Paslr PanJang Road being wildly cheap. Not bad pricing at all for those looking to venture into Singapore.

    1. Thank you Todd! Yes relative to what you get (a penthouse!) the pricing is pretty cheap. Thanks again for stopping by and happy travels out there.

  18. I really like these penthouses and was interested in staying at 29 Tanglin Road, but they were fully booked for the time period that I wanted to go. The spa just did it for me. Nevertheless, all these penthouses are the ultimate luxury experience for the discerning.

The prices are steep, but I think that it’s ok to spoil yourself and your loved ones every now and then. And what an amazing city Singapore is to explore.

    1. Hi Michel, it’s all relative but considering what you’re paying for these prices are pretty cheap. For example, paying $39 per night for Huge Penthouse Sentosa might be a great option. Glad you found an interest in 29 Tanglin Road. These places really are in high demand so it’s best to book as soon as possible. Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you soon!

  19. Singapore is quite the place – thriving and busy – and I’m so happy that you were able to find several penthouse rentals, and the prices are actually screaming good for the area.  Singapore can be quite expensive.  It’s very popular.  You did a great job finding these, and I love your site, because it’s like we can just go to your site and find what we need, and we don’t have to be shopping all over the internet! ~ Babs

  20. A great place to go; Singapore. Definitely beautiful to look at with great scenery. The apartments are beautiful and tastefully furnished. All of the penthouses looks elegant, upscale and posh. I particularly like the background of Singapore and how it came about. For the price range and size of my family I think, the best option would be Orchard Scotts Residences and Huge penthouse.

Thanks for all these fully detailed recommendations.

  21. Wow this is nice, Singapore has really nice place to be, it is a pity that people can’t go there yet because of the ongoing pandemic lock-down though someone can still go after this whole COVID ends, this is a perfect place to chill and relax, the bugls street singapore is awesome, with free wifi, roof top bar, air condition, floor to ceiling window, daybed, rain shower etc and others like marlna Bay is also great with an awesome view having a world class casino, dark wood decor etc, the hotels are all great, it will be nice to be in a place like this…Thanks for sharing this

    1. Alexy you are very welcome and thank you for commenting. Once Covid-19 ends, Singapore again will be an attractive place to visit. Glad to see that these hotels in Singapore have struck your fancy and hopefully you get to visit soon!

  22. If there is a place that I really want to visit in my lifetime, is the Lion City. I have heard amazing things about this island city-state especially tourism.
Of the hotels you have shared, I would want to spend a night in the Marina Bay Sands. It evokes tropical modernism that fits perfectly into the charming street. The hotel provides a refreshing burst of colour that tones well with the surrounding neighbourhood.
Thank you for making it easy for us by sharing these wonderful hotels. It narrows down our search.

    1. Edgar great description of Marina Bay Sands. The infinity pool and rooftop are truly amazing and it is one of the most impressive and distinguished buildings in Sangapore. You’re welcome and glad to see that you found these hotels in Singapore to be helpful for your search!

  23. I have always wanted to visit Singapore as its one of my dream destination…One issue i have always had with all the destinations i have visited is accommodation as most of the hotels do not really suit my taste…after reading i think a penthouse would be the best as i and my family might spend a month there.

    1. David if you’re spending a month in Singapore, or anywhere for that matter, then you can’t go wrong in a penthouse! Fully-equipped kitchens, plenty of space, amazing views, these are just some of the reasons to rent a penthouse. Any of these hotels in Singapore will do well for your dream destination. Happy travels and thanks for stopping by!

  24. Wow these penthouses are really cheap and i would love to try them out when next i travel to singapore…During my last visit to singapore i also stayed at a penthouse because of the time i was to spend there, the penthouse i stayed was so expensive and was of low quality compared to this once…i would definately give them a try.

    1. Hi Ben and thanks for the comments. Glad to see you appreciate the pricing on these hotels in Singapore. For the quality, they are pretty incredible!
