Hotels In Berlin

Hotels in Berlin offer amazing accommodations in a destination nicknamed Paper City. Known for its museums, theaters, restaurants, historic sites, diverse architecture and lively nightlife, Berlin is located near Germany’s eastern border, roughly half-way between Warsaw and Amsterdam. Keep in mind that in the Paper City there may be lots of cyclists on the roads and that cars drive on the right side. The city’s currency is the Euro. Also  good to know is that night clubs stay open all night and that the legal drinking age to get into clubs is 18 years old. Berlin’s top football clubs are 1. FC Union Berlin, which plays its games at Stadion An der Alten Försterei, and Hertha BSC, which plays at Olympiastadion Berlin. Top festivals include Berlin Art Week, Berlin Fashion Week, Lange Nacht der Museen, Melt Festival, Karneval der Kulturen, Helene Beach Festival, Berlinale, Transmediale, Berlin Alonal, Festival of Lights, Citadel Music Festival, Lollapalooza, CTM Festival, Nation of Gondwana, Pop Kultur, Her Damit, Oktoberfest and Street Food Thursday.  Hotels in Berlin truly are some of the best in Central Europe. Before we get to hotels in Berlin, let’s take a look at some more background information on the city to help you along the way.

Dating back to the 13th century, Berlin has a storied past.  Western Slavs being the area’s original inhabitants, the name Berlin is rooted in the Western Slavic language. Berlin’s coat of arms is represented by a bear and is thus an example of canting arms. Historically a focal point for the crossing of two major trade routes, Berlin was devastated by the Thirty Years’ War during the 17th century. During the 18th century, Frederick the Great came to power, resulting in the Age of Enlightenment. The Industrial Revolution expanded the city exponentially throughout the 19th century, and in 1871 Berlin became the capital of the newly founded German Empire. During World War II, large parts of the city were destroyed in the Battle of Berlin. After the war, the city essentially was split in half, with American, British and French zones set up in West Berlin, and Russia controlling East Berlin. In 1961, the communist-controlled German Democratic Republic began constructing the Berlin Wall around the city’s western half. Tension between Eastern and Western Germany lasted until November 9th, 1989, when the Berlin Wall fell, and the city was reunified.

Home to over 3.7 million Berliners, Berlin is the capital and largest city of Germany, and the second-most populated city in the European Union behind London. Flowing through Berlin, the River Spree fills the city’s lakes in the southeastern and western boroughs. Deutschland’s capital city offers a temperate climate, with summers ranging in the upper 60s degrees Fahrenheit, and winters averaging in the mid-30s. The Paper City is positioned centrally at the European Continent’s cross-hairs.. The major German cities Leipzig and Dresden are located to the south, while the major Polish city Szczecin is northeast. An enticing travel destination, Berlin draws in over 30 million tourists annually. 37 Replies to “Hotels In Berlin”

  1. Monbijou Penthouse, 11 Monbijouplatz, Mitte looks absolutely game. Like wow, beyond high-end with such a modern and almost futuristic feel, especially with those black walls. The fact it’s located near a shopping mall plus a steak house makes the place even more interesting. If there’s one penthouse I’d pick from this list, it’s Monbijou.

  2. Wow, you did a thorough job in not only providing detailed information about these various penthouse vacation rentals, but also includes links to make reservations so easily. It was a brilliant touch to list shops, restaurants and places of interest for each of these penthouses. It definitely helps to make booking decisions more easily.

I hope you are an affiliate of these booking sources. You’ve done such a good job in helping the traveller to Berlin make an easy decision. Since I love classical music, the ones that had easy access to the Berlin Philharmonic appealed to me most.

These facilities are all luxurious, but have personality differences to appeal to virtually any traveller. Having a bathtub in the bedroom like a couple did was not my cup of tea. I am sure that will appeal to some individuals.

Without a doubt, they are all extremely well furnished and equipped with the most desirable mod cons. I wish could afford to rent one of these places for a dream vacation. Great job overall.

    1. Thank you Edwin for your kind and thorough comments! Hope you are successful in your life’s journey and can afford to rent or OWN one of these beautiful penthouses 🙂

  3. I like how this site was set up it really has some good pictures and a good explanation about each room.

I think it has good advertisements after each paragraph. Really looks like a beautiful place to go  Visit. This set up with some very good thought, Well done.  A lot of good information about The penthouse’s in Germany.

  4. Wow! Aren’t those apartments suites just beautiful!!

The Drakestrasse 1, Mitte has done it for me. I am just fascinated by the dark interiors, and is that a massage table there?

The Gorki Apartments is also a winner.I love that I can enjoy the outdoors in the clear skies.

Thanks for the additional information on what else is going around those areas. Germany is one of my dream destinations.

    1. Thank you for the comments Carol. Glad you like The Drakestrasse 1, Mitte and The Gorki Apartments and that Germany is one of your dream destinations. Happy travels!

  7. Hi again, I just left a comment on your penthouse by city post which was great by the way so I thought I would take a look around your website.

The hotels you show here in Berlin are out of this world and although I want to travel there to see the sights I don’t think I could leave the hotel room if I stayed in any of these awesome looking rooms.

I especially love the futuristic looking Hotel Q room, I think with the wifi and flat screen tv I would only leave the room if it was to go to Bunny’s Bar, lol

Thanks for the great review of these hotels and penthouses and hopefully I will get to stay in them soon 🙂

    1. Hi Matthew and thanks again for stopping by! So glad to hear that you found something particular in Hotel Q, and lol @ Bunny’s Bar. Hope so too, safe travels out there!

It looks like there are some gorgeous and very diverse ways to experience Berlin. Would you think it’s better to stay in one place for the full time of the visit or check out a few different accommodations. Cheers!

    1. Hi Judy, thank you! If there is an accommodation that you particularly love you might go with it. Otherwise multiple locations might be a good option as different neighborhoods have different entertainment. Thanks again for stopping by and best wishes!

  11. These accommodations are so stunningly beautiful and modern.  I didn’t realize how gorgeous these places would be.  I thought they would be more rustic, being in Europe and all.  I’m so glad I came across this article, because it has enticed me to give travel to Germany a try.  These places look right out of a magazine!  I love them!

    1. Thank you so much for the kind words Babsie! They truly are beautiful and very glad you found the information to your liking ☺️

  12. Wow,

I’ve never been to Germany but I’ve wanted to visit for some time.  I can’t believe how beautiful these places to stay are and how close they are to so many things to do.

I’ve followed a few of your links and am quite surprised at how affordable these places really are.  I think it’s time for me to actually plan that trip!

Would you happen to know a good source for flight information from the US west coast?

    Thanks again,

         Scott

    1. Hi Scott and that you so much for the comments! The best thing to do regarding flights is to compare different sites. Priceline, Hotwire, Orbitz, Travelocity, Skyscanners, Momondo are some good ones to name a few. Hope that helps and safe travels out there!

  13. Wow, these are stunning! 11 Monbijouplatz, Mitte is definitely my favorite. You did a really nice job outlining some of the currently available options. Any plans to post some travel tips for first time travelers to these places?

Germany is definitely on my list of places to visit, as well as France (which works out because I see you have an article about places in Paris). I’m really glad I found your site, I think this will be very helpful in my future adventures.

    1. Thank you for the kind comments KXP! Glad to hear you pinpointed a favorite. Your question is appreciated and will be taken into consideration. Cheers!

  15. Germany has always been a place of amusement to me. Seriously, this Berlin did have some awesome looking penthouses. For me, I like the dark feel and atmosphere of the Monbijou Penthouse, 11 Monbijouplatz, Mitte. This could be arguably the best penthouse I have seen ever. I love the black feel and atmosphere. Wow! This is great

    1. Hi Isaac. You are not alone as many people seem to favor Monbijou. Glad to hear this style suits you 🙂

  16. Thanks for the great pictures, it really shows several different ways to have a great time in Berlin. I love how you gave the distance to all the attractions nearby.

I think if I had to pick one it would be the Luxus. I love the garden terrace and the, it is so beautiful. I really like the things around it.

I am a big foodie and, who doesn’t like ice cream and don’t forget the observation deck I love just looking around at things this will give me a wonderful view.!

I will bookmark this so I have it in the future.

    Blessings,

    Lynda

    1. Hello Lynda. Thank you! Very glad to hear that you found value in the post. Luxus is a fine choice with many great nearby attractions!

  17. WOW really beautiful site with top pictures. You provided a lot of detailed information on how to travel with Gorki

apartments to Berlin. Those apartments have a lot of features.

Definitely going to Berlin one of these days and travel through your site with confidence. Drakenstrasse seems a top location. But other locations also have nice furniture and are luxurious.

    1. Thank you Jacob! Very glad to hear that you found these two to your liking. Your comments are much appreciated, hope you have a great trip 😊

  18. Last time I was in Germany it was on a camping holiday, following a stretch of the Rhine. Needless to say the accommodation was poor in comparison to the luxury penthouses you have painstakingly taken such care to display. Now as a parent whose children have almost flown the coop it maybe time to start planning some quality excursions. For once it is possible to do so within the confines of a single site. As well as being able to have a very good look round the apartments, which are lush, I have had a wander through some of the local attractions. Monbijou Penthouse really caught my eye and would seem to be able to accomodate all six of us, though I am inclined not to make it an open invitation.

    1. Thank you Twack! Your story and gracious comments are much appreciated. Hope you get to enjoy yourself now that the coop has been flown 😉

  19. I haven’t been to Berlin. This write-up on hotels is defintiely a nice guide to check out before anyone goes Berlin, Germany. Staying in the penthouse is not always an option for us. Some of these hotels look to be quite nice. I really like the main picture in ths page. Do any of those hotels have views like the one you show here?
