Hotels in Bangkok

Hotels in Bangkok provide enchanting accommodations in a destination nicknamed “City of Angels”. Known for its cuisine, night & street life, cultural landmarks, parks, canals, temples, shrines and indeed, red-light districts, Bangkok is located in southern Thailand on the Gulf of Thailand. About half-way between the countries of Myanmar and Cambodia, Bangkok is a uniquely English-speaking city. When traveling to Bangkok, it’s best to respect the rules of Buddhism as well as the Thai royal family. Avoid kissing in public, throwing chewed gum onto the ground and pointing the soles of your feet at anyone. Additionally, watch out for scams, overcharging and dual pricing, an example of which being the gem scam. Bangkok currency is the Thai Baht, cars travel on the left-hand side and the drinking age is 20 years old. While there are multiple red-light districts found in the city, keep in mind that prostitution is technically illegal in Thailand, though not strictly enforced. Bangkok festivals include Kolour In The Park, Wonderfruit, Big Mountain Festival, Full Moon Party, Songkran (Thai New Year), Chinese New Year, The King’s Birthday, Loy Krathong and Candle Festival. Hotels in Bangkok are some of the best in all of Asia. Before we get to hotels in Bangkok, let’s take a look at some more background information on the area to help you along the way.

Dating back to the early 15th century, Bangkok has grown from a village, to a fortified customs outpost, to a town, and eventually into a present-day metropolis. A siege in 1688 resulted in the French being expelled from Siam (the former name of Thailand). King Taksin established a capital near present-day Bangkok circa 1767, thus establishing the Thonburi Kingdom. Succeeding Taksin, King Phutthayotfa Chulalok founded the Rattanakosin Kingdom in 1782. The City Pillar, erected on April 21, 1782, marked the official foundation of Bangkok as the country’s capital. International trade, first with the Chinese and then with the Western world, contributed to the city’s rise. Alongside the Japanese during World War II, Bangkok was hit by Allied bombing. After WWII, the city was re-built by the United States, becoming a popular R&R destination for military personnel. Thereafter, Japanese businesses began to invest in the city. Expansion continued rapidly, stalled only by the 1997 Asian financial crisis.

Home to roughly 8.5 million people, Bangkok is Thailand’s capital and most populous city. The City of Angels enjoys a tropical savanna climate. Average high temperatures hover around 90 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the year, while average lows remain in the 70s. The city’s record low is 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Architecture, attractions and city life create an adventurous atmosphere, with royal palaces, temples, museums, shopping malls, restaurants, night-life and sex tourism being main draws. Bangkok’s major points of interest include Sathon, Giant Swing, Victory Monument, Rama VIII Bridge, Wat Arun, Grand Palace, Royal Plaza, Lumphini Park, Chinatown, MahaNakhon, Khao San Road, Siam Discovery, Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Museum of Contemporary Art, National Stadium and Hua Mak Sports Complex.  Popular Bangkok foods are hot and sour soup, fried noodles, sticky rice and spicy meats. Drinks include beer, whiskey, iced tea and coffee. Now that we have some background information on the city, it’s time for hotels in Bangkok that will help make for a memorable experience.

  1. Only on this site alone, I have learned about all the most beautiful places in the world. Thank you for having your due diligence on the various best hotels around the world. Bangkok is just simply a hub of beauty and a haven of luxury because all these sites reek of luxury and I love every bit of the moment I spend here on this platform reading about them. I like the Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse the most from this list.

  2. Bangkok is a gorgeous city and these hotels are also gorgeous. I love them all but I would have to go with the Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel. You had me at roof-top infinity pool. I just think it would be so cool to swim but also have a beautiful view. The price is worth the view.

  3. Nothing beats the exploration of the world and getting to explore a beautiful city as Bangkok would only make sure that one get treated to beautiful and awesome hospitality in the hotels and I can only say that I am shocked to see all these here. Thanks so much. Thumbs ups

  4. Wow! These are some very luxurious looking hotel suites. Obvious the price would be lower when traveling with a group but if I should go to Bangkok it will be just two people, me and my girlfriend. That being said, I will most like be paying for her, so no discount for me unfortunately.

Bangkok is a city in Asia that I have always wanted to visit. I am a big fan of the food and culture of Thailand. Recently I had learned of another reason why I would want to visit. Medical Tourism. When I was cured of cancer naturally 18 years ago, one of the natural treatments I took is popular in Thailand. I would love to learn more.

The Avani + Riverside Bangkok Hotel is my favorite. I can just imagine my girlfriend and I relaxing in that rooftop infinity pool. Gorgeous views! Are there any restrictions when it comes to making reservations such as cancellation refunds or minimum time needed before arrival for making a reservation?

    1. Robert thank you very much for the comments! Cost per person can give you an approximate figure when planning, regardless of who’s paying, and can give you an idea of the market out there. Hope that helps and happy travels with your girlfriend!

  5. Wow, I never realised Bangkok had a population of over 8 million. I must say its never been on my list of destinations but your post has changed that, I’m intrigued by the place now.

The views look amazing and the hotels are incredible and surprisingly affordable.

Great post and thank you for the excellent information.

    Regards

    Andy.

  6. Wow!   Those hotels are pretty expensive taste for anyone who want to spend there.  Some are cheap and some are very expensive.  Those are good description on each hotels.  Those advertising looks are very hot.  One day, I will visit there to see very interesting history about the city and tours anywhere.  I’m surprising to hear that you mention “sex tourism”.  Thanks for warning me, so I will be more careful.  Thanks for sharing those.  Great job!!!!

    1. Hi Carolyn and thank you for the comments! Glad you found the information useful and happy travels out there, you’re welcome

  7. Wow! So many choices, it’s hard to pick one. I always have wanted to visit Thailand as well as the rest of the nations all over Asia. I love the culture. I must say that I’m surprised by the prices of the hotels. I was expecting them to be much more expensive than this. Thanks for sharing your list of hotels in Bangkok! Great site, by the way.

  8. These are some really fascinating hotels which would give anyone the best comfort during their journey and I am impressed with the services they offer as well. Thailand is a fine place and the Avani+ riverside hotel seen like one I wouldn’t mind spending time there over and over again because of its view of the city you can get to see. Thanks for sharing this wonderful article

  9. I’ve always wanted to travel to Asia and Thailand is one of the main destinations I want to spend some time in. This article is great, because now I have a better idea where I can stay and what it’s likely to cost. It’s pretty affordable there, compared to other destinations and I’ve heard it’s a popular place with expats who earn a living online like me. I don’t see myself moving from here, but it’s good to know that if I ever had to, that would be an affordable alternative. That said, I certainly wouldn’t mind visiting annually and getting to know the entire area. The views from those hotels you show here are amazing! Thanks for sharing!

  10. Hello there!

Thailand is one of the most visited countries of the world, having impressive flows of tourists on a yearly basis, and people living there are surely pretty active, since in the recent history the country had to deal with the Tsunami from 2004.

Pretty exciting sights from the Bangkok hotels, at least Surawong Road and Charoennakorn Road may just leave you breathless and astonished! And the 991/9 Rama I Road looks like an imperial palace to me. I find also Petchburi Road as a remarkable choice to make, its sight tells it all… These are destinations for people with generous monthly earnings, that’s for sure, but even cash poorer people can enjoy seeing these photos.

Rachadamri Road also seems a magnificent one!

We shouldn’t doubt the quality of the plenty of features and facilities these hotels welcome their customers with. Just like Seoul and Hawaii, Bangkok has to be an unforgettable holiday destination!

    Best regards,

    Peter

  11. Hello!

My parents visited Bangkok Thailand many years ago. They were amazed at the city and its hotels. The city has evidently grown considerably on your site. The weather according to the temperatures you indicate is very pleasant for all of us.

In recent years we are going on vacation with a friend. I will talk to them first to find out what Bangkok looks like as a destination to visit. I will send you your site to start.

    Thank you!

  12. Amazing. You really got me with this fantastic article. Me and my friends want to visit Bangkok next year. I love the culture and food of Thailand. Here in my country I choose to eat at the thailand restaurant Tom kha kai (chicken in coconut soup) . It’s very tasty, I really recommend to everyone who will go there.

My favorite hotel is Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse and i think after the discusition with my friends i will convince them that this is the place where we must stay. I can’t wait to sit on the couch and watch the sky up there full of stars.

    Thank’s a lot!

  13. Bangkok is now the tourism heaven  in the Asia. This article will help the tourists to chose to ‘pin point’ the most suitable hotel comparing the facilities with the price.

Hotel cost in Bangkok is much cheaper compared to Europe and America. However, there are millions of Indian and Srilankan tourists who would expect to get some hotel review where the cost per person will be not more than $50. As you have scoured through all hotels in Bangkok, a review on these types of hotels would be a great help for Indian and Srilankan visitors.

  14. Thank you so much for the awesome post!  There are some nice hotels on this list!  I am planning on going to Bangkok next year because I really want to experience the culture (especially the food of course, but also the religious traditions!).  Avani + Riverside Bangkok Hotel sounds like a good hotel and it looks absolutely beautiful!

  15. Hey , Thank you for writing on the Hotels in Bangkok Thailand. I enjoy a lot while reading your article. Bangkok is Thailand’s capital and most populous city. Bangkok enjoys a tropical savanna climate, with average highs hovering around 90 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the year, and average lows staying in the 70s. If I got a chance to visit I will stay in Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse.

  16. It is a beautiful city of Bangkok with so many beautiful scenery and a hotel. One does not know which hotel to choose for a stay because everyone is nice to me and the prices are not great. I liked the Bangkok Marriott Hotel and other hotels. The ambience is somehow warm and cozy.

    1. Kozakiv the city of Bangkok is indeed beautiful thank you for saying and the ambiance is warm and cozy for sure

  17. Thanks a lot for such an amazing review about Hotels in Bangkok Thailand and explanations are given.

I wanted to go on a trip to Bangkok Thailand with some friends. So we decided to look for some accommodations on the spot, this is a very good article, the best one I found. We will stay at least one night in one of the accommodations.

Thanks again for this post. If you don’t mind, I will share this article on my social media account. Good luck!

  18. Hey,

    Very useful article!

My five year anniversary is coming up this coming up this Spring, I’m planning on booking us a trip to Thailand to celebrate!

The Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit sounds ideal as we’re both gym fanatics (We both workout for a living) so the gym, spa and sauna sounds ideal, she’s also a massive fan of vegetarian food, so the vegetarian restaurant provides us with plenty of options as well!

The suites look absolutely stunning as well!

  19. I have visited several countries throughout my life, including the USA, Spain, Marocco, France, Portugal, Costa Rica, and Mexico. I have never been to Thailand.

I’m definitely adding it to my bucket list after reading this blog post. I am retired with a limited budget. So, I would probably choose the Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok or 28 Chareonkrung Soi 70. They both seem to be pretty affordable and nice.

    Thanks for the information

  20. A friend just visited Thailand last year and she was telling me she just loved it! She said she didn’t know what to expect of that trip when her sister invited her to go on a family trip to visit some Asian countries, but she said, it was a wonderful trip and she would love to visit Thailand again.

One of my sons is traveling often around the world because of his job, and he told me he might be traveling to Thailand this year, he told me to look for some information about hotels where to stay, so I will forward your article to him, I’m sure he’ll find this information good, so he can talk with his boss to get a good idea about one hotel when they can stay during their visit to this country.

    1. Alejandra it’s always great to be able to visit some Asian countries. Your son would do well in one of these hotels 🙂

  21. Before now, I have heard a little about Bangkok and after reading this post, I have learnt alot about Bangkok. It’s such an amazing place to behold and experience and I’d love to be there.

As a blogger and musician, what I look out for mostly in Hotels is comfortability, steady power supply, good food and free WiFi especially which most of these hotels are incorporated with. I will have to take my laptop and other little gadgets along with me while traveling and of course, they’re not heavy by the way.

Thanks for sharing these awesome hotels. Regards!
